NOTE: When a child is not picked up in emergency situations including, but not limited to inclement weather or natural disasters, we will follow the above “late pick-up” policy listed above starting 45 minutes from when the parent has been informed of the need for campers to be picked up.

Do not send food or drinks in glass containers. Lunches will not be refrigerated. Please do not provide your camper with food that will need to be microwaved or heated. Camp staff is not responsible for food preparation or pre-heating meals. Please mark all lunches (and all containers inside lunches) with the camper’s first and last name and the date. We will have 2 snack periods daily. Please send extra food for these times as well as a water bottle. Saint Andrew’s is a Nut-Aware Zone. Campers who wish to order pizza must place their pizza order with the Camp Director when they arrive. You may place your pizza order online when registering for camp.
Illness Policy Please do not bring your child to camp if he or she is ill. We are required to send sick campers home for their own welfare and the protection of others. The camp defines illness as:
a fever within the last 24 hours*;
a sore throat;
a persistent cold or a cough;
vomiting during the preceding 24 hours;
three episodes of diarrhea within the course of a day;
any skin rash.
A camper may not return to camp until his or her temperature has been normal or vomiting has ceased for at least 24 hours without the use of medication to reduce the fever. As well, a camper may not have vomited within 24 hours before returning to camp. *At Saint Andrew’s a fever will be determined as a temperature of 100.4 degrees Fahrenheit.
Please notify the camp immediately if your child has contracted or been exposed to a contagious disease. If a camper becomes ill during the day, the camp will contact the parents. If the parents cannot be reached, a designated emergency contact person will be called.
Parents agree that in the event of an emergency illness, the camp has permission to secure medical aid for the child. All medical expenses, if any, are the responsibility of the parent.
In accordance with state law, the camp can only administer medication to your child with a doctor’s signed “Medication Administration” form on file for a specific medication. This includes all over-the-counter medications, such as, but not limited to cough drops, throat lozenges, Tylenol, allergy medication.
Medications will not be accepted by the camp nurse or any other camp officials unless it is in an appropriate container and brought to the health room by the parent or guardian. No camper may bring his or her medication to camp. Campers with unauthorized medication will have that medication confiscated immediately and the parent/guardian will be notified.
A pharmacist must label prescription medication with the camper’s name, medication, authorized doctor’s name, dosage, when and how to administer, the date that pharmacist filled a prescription, and expiration date of medication.
Accidents and Emergencies In the event of a medical emergency, immediate action will be taken by the staff as per your orders on the camp registration form and policies and waivers. Please be sure to keep your emergency contact information updated at all times. Please notify us right away when there is a new work or home phone number, or if you have moved and have a new address. If parents or other responsible adults are unable to be reached, the child will be taken to the nearest hospital for any necessary treatment.
In general, in the event that a major injury or health problem arises and professional medical care is required, the following steps will be taken:
911 will be called.
Immediate First Aid will be administered by the camp staff person until professional services arrive.
You will be contacted. If you cannot be reached, the emergency contact person will be notified.
